For: PTE Academic learners starting or restructuring preparation

Map the three test parts

Pearson groups PTE Academic into Speaking & Writing, Reading, and Listening. Some tasks assess more than one skill, so organise practice by task type as well as by skill.

Practise the current task types

Use Pearson’s current format pages as the source of truth for timings, prompt lengths, and scoring notes. Avoid relying on an old task list.

Build a correction loop

After every attempt, label the issue and choose one near-transfer task.

  1. Attempt one task.
  2. Review the scored traits or answer.
  3. Record one correction.
  4. Repeat with a similar prompt.
